Dear Friends, 

It is with a sense of awe that I am walking in the footsteps of my predecessors. It is thanks to them, and the numerous other selfless members of ANMI, due to which ANMI has reached its dominant position in the Indian Capital Markets. ANMI is today recognized for its commendable work in market development by the Exchanges, Regulators and the Government. Our views are constantly sought, and considered seriously, on policy matters. This is also evident from the fact that ANMI is now represented on important Regulatory Committees. The transition from a body emphasizing on lobbying to one focused on market development has been a smooth one, and ANMI has realised it with great aplomb. 

And while we have come a long way, standing on the back of our achievements, we now see the enormous task at hand and simply how much more there is to do! Our increasing interactions with other Associations abroad have shown us that there is much to learn from the products that they use. We are slowly learning how to combine the power of such products with the sound regulatory systems we have in India. To this end, ANMI is committed to helping its members learn more about such products, not only by having the finest global software systems display their wares in India, but also by having experts from around the world assist us in improving our skill sets.  

And while our own progress is necessary, we would be failing in our duty if we did not work on having the benefits of the country’s growth trickle down to all levels. It is often seen that while people are brilliant at their own work, they do not always understand how to plan their finances well. To this end, ANMI plans to work at the Governmental level to introduce financial literacy at even high school levels. This will be a long-drawn task, but one that will pay rich dividends to our populace in the years to come. 

While the members of ANMI continue to put in their best for the betterment of the Indian Capital Markets, we welcome views from our members guiding us in areas where they would like to push us more. I also invite everybody to work alongside each other for not only the betterment of the industry, but for their own advancement also.
